Chronic dry eye can be caused by inflammation which affects your eyes’ ability to produce tears. Dry eyes cause discomfort, burning, stinging, eye fatigue, sensitivity to light, eye redness, a sensation of something in your eye, and tearing. Only a thorough physical examination can determine the severity of your dry eye, with appropriate treatment. If dry eyes get worse, it can affect your vision. The dense, bright green area in the above photo represents corneal inflammation.
